Much to my annoyance the second Startech device they showed, the USB2HDCAPS device does NOT work with OBS. My suspicion is that the first, the USB2HDCAPM, unit also doesn't. I do have on email that the newer USB3HDCAP unit DOES work with OBS. So worth knowing about if you're after something with OBS compatibilty. The StarTech proprietary software is called Vivastation and it'll output to a stream server of your choice so if that's basic enough for you then go for it.
