  1. where did you get the /etc/jitsi/jibri/config.json example file? it appears the current one in the jibri github readme is missing all the xmpp information
the documentation for jibri as of now is missing way too many crucial points

  2. Congratulations Nerd on the Street – Tech !!

Really all of your tutorials I have followed and work perfectly. It has helped me a lot.

About the jibri, I have a question: Is it possible to make recordings in simultaneous rooms or to record and transmit to youtube in different rooms at the same time?

Where I work we have several simultaneous meetings and it has happened that they have the need to record them or transmit them via youtube. But if there is already a recording or transmission in progress, the jitsi shows a message that the service is busy and cannot record or transmit.

I would be happy if that were possible.

Sorry for any error or agreement in writing, I'm using google translator.

  3. Awesome tutorial…I am facing aproblem; when i start jibri while there is a password implemented on room, jibri fails and if i disable password, it works. How can i make jibri works with password enabled ?

  4. Thanks for this Jibri tutorial. One of the best and concise tutorials available on Youtube right now. Can you do a tutorial on how to scale Jitsi using multiple JVBs? (and better if you could also introduce/touch Octo 🙂

  5. Is capturing from chrome the only way to record a stream? I'm looking for a video chat that will let me just dump all of the audio/video streams as separate files, preferably on my server. People keep suggesting jitsi/jibri, but your video seems to confirm my first suspicions on skimming through the docs – that it would only create one video with everybody together.
Guess I need to look for a different platform :S

  6. Awesome!! Cool Jacob!!
Please let me know if I try to have several rooms at the same time, and have the recording happening at the same time, any specific idea about the HW impact ? so I can calculate the resources I would need ?

  7. Thank you very much, Mr. Jacob, your tutorial was very useful including the jitsi server tutorial in the previous video, very complete explanation and very easy to follow, I have tried and succeeded

  8. I have followed all the steps but failed to start the recording. Its is giving error of timed out to join the call in jibri log.
I am using ldap for authentication.
Vmware setup no firewall in between.
How to solve this error. Pls revert???

  9. Thank you so much for this video. I was installed Jitsi-meet server without errors, but when i installed jibri for this tutorial step by step and my serwer doesn't have a sound. I found the solution, meyby somone use this
    sed -i s/c2s_require_encryption = true/c2s_require_encryption = false/ /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua
    systemctl restart prosody
but my server dosn't recording on debian 10.4

  10. I really have appreciated your videos. Just a critique on your production workflow. Please normalize your audio to -3db before uploading so that we can hear you without have to turn the volume up really loud, only to have the next video blow our ears out. LOL!
Again… great video series! Probably the best I've seen.

  11. Hi, thanks for this tutorial. I unfortunately still get errors like user @VANHUSSEN:

    Notification: "Recording failed to start"
    Sound: "Recording has stopped"

Timeout seems to be exactly 30 seconds.

    /var/log/jitsi/jibri/log.0.txt says:

SEVERE: org.jitsi.jibri.selenium.pageobjects.CallPage.visit() Timed out waiting for call page to load

SEVERE: org.jitsi.jibri.service.impl.FileRecordingJibriService.finalize() Failed to run finalize script: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "": error=2, No such file $

The second I start the recording, top shows these processes:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    1009 jvb 20 0 8940404 383616 23152 S 94.0 2.4 2:03.44 java

Everything needed seems to be installed but apparently some file/path is wrong. Something with java? I have installed the recommended java and I have changed the path as shown in the tutorial.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!
